Twenty Palestinians were killed and more than 50 wounded on Monday as the Israeli military air and ground offensive goes on for the 17th successive day, medical officials said on Monday.
Gaza emergency chief Mo'aweya Hassanein told reporters that 20 Palestinians were killed and more than 50 wounded in warplanes airstrikes and tank shelling on different targets allover the Gaza Strip.
Hassanein said that among the 20 dead people, a paramedic belongs to his ambulance services teams, adding that 13 paramedics were killed since the beginning of the offensive in Dec. 27.
"The Israeli army targets everything, even our ambulances and our paramedics are in the field carrying out their humanitarian job allover the Gaza Strip," said Hassanein.

He said that earlier on Monday two civilians were killed in an airstrike on Palestine Square in Gaza city's downtown, adding that917 Palestinians were killed and 4,100 wounded since the beginning of the "aggression."
Local radio stations, who quoted residents and witnesses, said that the Israeli army has intensified its airstrikes and tank shelling on the outskirts of Gaza City as well as on northern Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Gaza militant groups, mainly Hamas movement said in separate statements that its militants went on fierce and heavy gun battles with Israeli ground forces in southern and eastern Gaza Strip.
The witnesses said that the fiercest clashes took place in al-Tufah neighborhood in northeast Gaza City as well as east of Jabalia, adding that until now the Israeli army has failed to enter densely populated areas in the Gaza Strip.
