Lebanese President Michel Suleiman said Friday that the Lebanese army dedication is only for the military institution, the Elnashra website reported.

"The army dedication is not for the president or any other leader, but only to the military institution," Suleiman said in a celebration on his honor at the defense ministry.

He stressed that "Lebanon always accepts military aid, but with no political conditions," adding that the Lebanese and Syrian armies have "one united ideology against the Israeli enemy."

"We should maintain coordination with the Syrian army in order to serve the security of Lebanon and Syria, without any interference by any side in the affairs of the other," Suleiman said.

He affirmed that the understanding between the Lebanese army and the resistance (Hezbollah) is a good experience to build a national defense strategy.

Lebanese rival leaders have been holding dialogue sessions aimed at reaching a national defense strategy which can find a solution for the weapons of the Shiite armed group Hezbollah.

Hezbollah is the only Lebanese faction which kept its heavy arms, under the pretext of resisting Israel. They have vowed to keep their arms as long as Israel poses a threat in the region.
