Iran's Majlis (parliament) has voiced support for Lebanon's Shiite group Hezbollah in its deadlock with Egypt, the satellite Press TV reported on Thursday.
In a parliament statement issued on Wednesday, 176 lawmakers condemned recent accusations against the Hezbollah resistance movement, the report said.
"We, members of the Iranian parliament, denounce the recent acts against the (Hezbollah) leader," the statement read.
Egypt said a few days ago it has arrested a cell of 49 men linked to Hezbollah in its Sinai Peninsula and that they were planning attacks aimed at destabilizing the most populous Arab country.
Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah rejected the accusations, but confirmed over the weekend that the group had dispatched a member to Egypt, in a rare acknowledgment that the Lebanese militant group was operating in another Arab country.
