A Jewish man went on a shooting spree in Jerusalem early Tuesday morning, killing an Arab man and wounding a Jewish man before being arrested, reported local news service Ynet.

The injured has been rushed to a local hospital, said the report, adding that the shooter, holding a licensed pistol, also opened fire at a third person, who fortunately escaped unharmed.

The motives behind the predawn attacks, which happened at separate locations, is still not clear, police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby was quoted as saying.

The killer reportedly told investigators that he shot at the victims because he feared that they, who apparently did not know, might attack him.
