Three Al-Qaida suspects were charged by the Lebanese military prosecutor Judge Saker Saker Monday with planning terrorist attacks in Lebanon and Syria, LBC TV reported.

The three suspects are Syrian, Kuwaiti and Tajikistani nationals, the report said, adding that they were planning terrorist attacks in Lebanon, and other attacks against the Syrianregime.

An Al-Qaida network was uncovered earlier this month, and was allegedly suspected of planning to carry out operations to destabilize Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Gulf countries including Kuwait.

In Dec, 2007, 31 Al-Qaida-linked suspects were indicted in Lebanon on charges of planning attacks in the country, Saudi Arabian and Syrian nationals were among them.

In April 2007, Al-Qaida-linked Fatah Al-Islam militants fought a devastating five-week battle with the Lebanese army in the Palestinian refugee of Naher El-Barid in north Lebanon.
