A Jewish man shot and wounded two Arabs near the Old City of Jerusalem Friday evening, Israeli news service Ynet reported.
The suspect in his 20s was arrested by the police later, and he said he opened fire after feeling threatened by six people around him, Ynet said.
Local Arab residents protested the shooting by throwing stones at the police and houses of Jewish people and an Arab man was lightly injured by a stone.
The injured are identified as residents of the Silwan neighborhood in East Jerusalem, just outside the walls of the Old City.
The international community regards East Jerusalem as occupied territory, but Israel insists it as part of its indivisible capital.
