Mysterious explosion kills Gaza militant

A Palestinian militant was killed and three wounded in a mysterious explosion in west of Gaza City on Monday night, medics and eyewitnesses reported.

The witnesses said a minibus that was driving in Shatti refugee camp west of Gaza City exploded, injuring four militants on board, and that one of them died of his wounds.

The witnesses said the minibus exploded when it was driving near the mosque of Ibad el Rahma, not far from the house of Ismail Haneya, prime minister of the deposed Hamas government in the Gaza Strip.

Ambulances and firefighters rushed to the scene.

Meanwhile, Gaza emergency chief Mo'aweya Hassanein confirmed that one was killed and three others wounded.

Hamas security sources in Gaza said the explosion was under investigation.
