Iran and Omani armed forces had successfully held joint rescue drill off the coast of the Persian Gulf, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Thursday.
The drill, which sought peaceful purposes and the security of Persian Gulf, had achieved its goals, the report said without providing sources.
The report also did not give the details and the date of the military exercises.
The drill was aimed to exchange the two countries' military and technical experiences, said the report, adding that it represented the friendship between Iranian and Omani armed forces and the two countries' peaceful coexistence.
On Dec. 6, Iran's Defense Ministry announced that Tehran is to host the 8th Iran-Oman joint defense cooperation commission meeting in the following week to promote the two countries' defense cooperation.
The annual Iran-Oman joint defense cooperation commission are held in Tehran or Muscat rotatively.
