The Israeli army on Sunday denied killing two Palestinians in northern Gaza Strip.

Avichai Adraee, an army spokesman, said initial investigations "have shown that the (army) has no relations with what happened in northern Gaza."

He added that the Israeli troops haven't carried out any military activities near the borders of northern Gaza Strip this morning.

Earlier, local security and medical sources said that two Palestinians were killed near Israel's borders in northern Gaza.

Mu'awia Hassanein, a health ministry official, said ambulances were sent to the area but still waiting Israeli permission to approach the dead bodies.

According to security sources, the Israeli army opened fire at the two early on Sunday, killing them immediately.
