Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi inaugurated two production lines on Monday for the manufacture of advanced unmanned aircraft to improve its defense capabilities, the English language satellite Press TV reported.

"The two drones, named Raad and Nazir, are capable of carrying out surveillance, detection and even assaults with high precision, " Vahidi was quoted as saying.

Iran has recently announced its progress in producing stealth aircraft and drones.

On Sunday, an Iranian air force commander Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh said that Iran has successfully tested the prototype of its first domestically-built stealth fighter, Press TV reported.

Iranian researchers of Amir Kabir University of Technology successfully manufactured the first light unmanned helicopter in the country, according to the state-run IRNA news agency.
