Two U.S. soldiers were killed and two others wounded in a vehicle accident in Iraq, the U.S. military said Tuesday.
A U.S. military statement said the accident took place on Monday without giving further details, but said the accident is under investigation.
The names of the deceased were being withheld pending notification of next of kin, the statement said.
The latest deaths bring the number of U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq to about 4,382 since the breakout of the U.S.- led war on Iraq in 2003, according to media account based on Pentagon figures.
