The Egyptian TV aired on Friday footage of President Hosni Mubarak who was practicing his routine work in Germany's Heidelberg Hospital.

Footage showed Mubarak making phone calls, laughing, signing papers and talking to chief of the presidential staff Zakaria Azmi, who has been accompanying him since the start of his medical trip.

Earlier in the day, the Egyptian TV said Mubarak had resumed his activities after a successful surgery he underwent on March 6.

Mubarak made several phone calls this morning to follow up the country's affairs and the development of current events ... and issued a number of presidential decrees," the report said.

Mubarak, 81, received a successful cholecystectomy surgery on March 6 in Germany after he suffered acute gall bladder inflammation, accompanied by gall stones.
