At least one Palestinian was killed early on Friday and eight others were arrested during an Israeli military operation in the West Bank city of Hebron, witnesses said.
However, medical sources said they were informed by local residents that two unidentified bodies were found after a number of Israeli troops threw tear gas canisters at and broke into two Palestinian houses early in the morning.
According to the Palestinian security sources, the Israeli army has so far arrested eight Palestinians.
The Israel Radio reported that the operation was launched to arrest a number of wanted Palestinians, who carried out terrorist acts against Israeli targets.
