Hundreds of Jordanians demonstrated in the capital city Friday, calling for constitutional and political reforms in the Arab kingdom.

On the 11th week of Friday protests inspired by uprisings across the Middle East, demonstrators marched in downtown Amman following Friday's prayers at the Grand Husseini Mosque, waving Jordanian flags and shouting anti-government slogans, calling for immediate dissolution of the Lower House.

The demonstrators, who represented youth, leftists groups and the Islamic Action Front, urged more efforts to combat corruption and called on the government to resign, stressing the need for a new election law to elect a government in the Arab kingdom.

They also slammed a recently formed committee that was tasked with starting a national dialogue with all the segments of the Jordanian community.

King Abdullah II of Jordan gave the committee a three month period to draft new laws for legislative elections and political parties, among other reforms.
