10 killed in clashes between tribesmen, Republican Guards in south Yemen

Tribal gunmen attacked units of the Republican Guard forces stationed in Mikhlaf Shraab city, the heavy clashes between the two sides resulted in the killing of nine soldiers and a passerby in addition to wounding dozens of others from both sides, the official told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
No casualties were reported among the armed tribesmen.
Sporadic gunshots could be heard across the city of al-Asadi, a local resident told Xinhua.
Shellings and heavy shootings have flared overnight in Taiz between government forces and opposition-backed armed tribesmen since last month.
