An Iranian plane carrying emergency relief aid to refugees on the Tunisian-Libyan border, landed on Tuesday at Djerba's international airport, the official press agency TAP reported on Wednesday.

The aid which includes tents, basic food commodities and medicine is destined to refugees fleeing the violence in Libya. It was dispatched to the towns of Medenine and Tataouine in southern Tunisia.

It is the third time Iran sends humanitarian aid to help refugees living on the Tunisian-Libyan border, TAP said.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday two Libyan soldiers entered Tunisia through the Ras El Jedir crossing point, fleeing the turmoil in Libya. The number of Libyan refugees crossing into Tunisia remains stable, according to TAP.
