United Nations Population Fund ( UNFPA) Representative to Angola Andre Mayouya here on Friday expressed satisfaction with cooperation with Angola.

He said the results of the implementation of the 5th program of cooperation with the Angolan government are positive and encouraging in a statement issued in the Angolan capital Luanda.

According to the statement, at a workshop held from October 15 to 17 in Luanda attended by representatives of Angolan ministries of planning, public health, education, family and women promotion, the UNEFPA representative highlighted the importance of the Angolan government's involvement in all aspects of the program as well as in the drafting of the 6th one.

The 6th program is intended to contribute for the process of reconstruction and reduction of poverty, through the promotion of health, reproductive rights, improved access to information and services of reproductive health, he said.

The new program also aims to reduce HIV/AIDS prevalence, maternal death rate and gender inequality and improve equilibrium between demographic growth and resources.

The workshop also tackled such other matters as UN reforms, importance of human rights and gender in the process of planning and management based on results and the UN framework for assistance to development, the statement said.
