Zimbabwe's ruling party the Zanu-PF supporters have come in thousands to attend the launch of the presidential run-off campaign set for later Sunday.

Clad in party regalia, singing revolutionary songs, the supporters were in jovial mood as they patiently waited for Zanu-PF candidate, Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe to launch the campaign.

Mugabe and the Movement for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai are due to take part in the run-off set for June 27.

Zanu-PF campaign will be held under the theme "100 percent empowerment: total independence."

Youth league chairman Absalom Sikhosana said the party was on the offensive to win the poll.

MDC deputy president Thokozane Khupe launched the run-off campaign in Bulawayo last weekend.
