The World Bank on Tuesday approved funds worth 40 million U.S. dollars for Madagascar's second Governance and Institutional Development Project.
This amount will enhance and further deepen previous reforms initiated under the first Governance and Institutional Development Project, scheduled to close next June, the bank said.
The second project, to be implemented over a period of four years, is designed to improve the efficiency and transparency of the government and selected public services in Madagascar in line with the Madagascar Action Plan.
The project has six components: Improvement of Public Expenditure Management, Strengthening the Efficiency of Government Operations, Rule of Law and Fight Against Corruption, Transparency and Social Accountability, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Program Coordination.
