Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, outlined possible future priorities and initiatives for the World Economic Forum on Africa on Thursday.

Schwab said the forum would build an electronic platform called WELCOME, or the World Electronic COMmunity. The projection is that within a year, 10,000 global decision-makers will interact on this virtual platform.

The forum would also establish 100 Global Agenda Councils to identify and focus on global and regional issues and become the world's foremost global intelligence system.

In order to help young Africans' development, the forum would set up a community of Young African Leaders, parallel to its community of Young Global Leaders.

Schwab said, the Forum tries to be a catalyst for action, helping to shape the global agenda at its annual meeting in Davos and to shape the African agenda in a global context at meetings in Africa.

Meanwhile, the Forum would also try to strike the right balance between intimate sessions and open ones, and to have balance of 50percent business participants and 50 percent government leaders, non-governmental organizations, young leaders and trade union leaders.
