Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni urged member countries of the Organization of the Islamic onference (OIC) to invest in Africa's infrastructure, a sector economic which is stalling the continent's economic growth.

Museveni, who was opening the OIC Business Forum here on Monday, said while there are efforts to construct a railway line from Dakar, Senegal to Port Sudan in Sudan, another line needs to be constructed linking the Kenyan seaport of Mombasa to Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He said once these two railway lines are in place, other transport networks will be constructed to link the two lines.

Shaikh Saleh Bin Abdullah Kamel, President of Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry urged the business community in the OIC member countries to play a crucial role in the construction of a road network that will link the member countries.

Uganda's Foreign Minister Sam Kuteesa recently said that foreign ministers of OIC member countries scheduled to meet here this week will discuss how the continent's infrastructural development can be funded.

He said the foreign ministers from the 57 member state intergovernmental body will discuss how developing countries can access the 6 billion U.S. dollar Africa Development Fund established by the rich Arab countries in March this year.
