Zambia and Britain held high level bilateral talks here Tuesday to cement the relationship between the two countries.
The talks were held between Zambia's Minister of Finance and National Planning Ng'andu Magande and British Under-Secretary of State for International Development Gillian Merron.
The two also signed a 1.4 million British Pounds fund to support Zambia's parliamentary reforms.
The Zambian minister told journalists after the signing ceremony that the assistance was a clear testimony of the warm and cordial relationship existing between the two countries.
The Merron, for his part, said the support will enable the Parliament to become more accountable to Zambians and show people the benefits of becoming involved in the democratic process.
"Good governance is at the heart of development. An effective state is the single most important factor in determining whether progress takes place," she said. Source:Xinhua
