Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has accepted an invitation to preside over the first East African Investment Conference (EAIC) to be held in Kigali, Rwanda, this week.
Daily Monitor quoting Monique Mukaruliza, Rwanda's minister of EAC Affairs, on Tuesday said Museveni in his capacity as the chairperson of the Summit of EAC Heads of State will join the four other EAC presidents in an extraordinary retreat of which all conference delegates will be invited.
Museveni reportedly has already sent an advance party to pave way for his arrival for the conference on Thursday.
The EAIC is a brain child of the Rwandan government, being organized by the Rwanda Investment and Export Promotion Agency together with the East African Community (EAC) Secretariat as well as regional Investment Promotion Agencies.
The conference is expected to attract over 800 leading business executives from around the world.
