The 26th Plenary Session of the InterAction Council has called on Southern African Development Community and African Union to take action to help Zimbabwe to rearrange a date for the latter's presidential elections scheduled to be held on Friday.

The InterAction Council which opened in Stockholm on Wednesday issued the call read by former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien at IAC opening ceremony.

Zimbabwe opposition leader Tsvangrai withdrew from the current election claiming that will not be a fair one.

In an interview with People's Daily Online reporter, Hans Blix who is former Chairman of UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission said that Europe will not intervene in the Zimbabwe affairs. He believes that African leaders from SADC and AU will be able to deal with the issue. In other words, African issues should be solved by African people.

Former Tanzanian President Benjamin Mkapa told reporter that he fully agreed with the call issued by InterAction Council and wish Zimbabwan leaders can reach an agreement in order to avoid crisis.
