Nigeria's Minister of State for Energy (Petroleum) Odein Ajumogobia has urged Indian investors to partner with Nigeria in building the infrastructure needed to develop the energy sector.

Ajumogobia stated this on Monday when he met the Indian Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria Anil Trigunnayat at the Ministry office.

Ajumogobia said the partnership would boost Nigeria's quest to realize its aspirations as contained in the new Gas Master Plan.

"Nigeria stands to benefit from the technical experience of India in oil and gas sector," he said.

He said India was noted for making great strides in the oil and gas sector, especially in the downstream.

According to him, in spite of its size and population, India had ensured an effective and seamless distribution of petroleum products to her populace.

He said in tackling the challenges government had located small sized gas-powered thermal stations to generate electricity all over the country.

The envoy said Indian companies were interested in investing in Nigeria's oil and gas sector as well as the power sector.

Trigunnayat said his visit was to solicit the minister's guidance on how to proceed, especially against the backdrop of the new developments in oil and gas gathering.
