The Arab foreign ministers will hold an emergency meeting on Saturday on the latest developments of disputes between Sudan and the International Criminal Court (ICC), the Egyptian MENA news agency reported Monday.
Sudan filed a request last Friday in this regard with the AL secretariat after reports of ICC's call for the Sudanese president's arrest, and the request was approved by Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Libya and Palestine, the chairman of the Arab League Secretary General Office, Hisham Yousef said on Monday.
Earlier on Monday, ICC chief prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo accused Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir of genocide and crimes against humanity, under which he said he would urge arrest warrants against him and some senior Sudanese officials. Source: Xinhua
