The 25th Angola International TradeFair (FIL2008) opened here on Tuesday, with Angolan Prime Minister Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos cutting the ribbon of the opening ceremony.
FIL2008 counts on the participation of 550 foreign and domestic companies and firms that demonstrate their thousands of products and services in five exhibition halls covering a total space of 26,000 square km.
According to the trade fair organization committee, many foreign companies first participate in the fair, including those from Egypt, Zimbabwe, Singapore and the Philippines.
Other foreign participators are from Spain, Brazil, Portugal, Germany, Italy, China, South Africa, Namibia, Ghana, Uruguay and the Netherlands.
An official from the organization committee told reporters that the fair shows various kinds of products and services of civil engineering, information technology, banking, light and heavy industries, beverage, foodstuffs, energy, oil and gas, machinery, motor vehicles, insurance, clothing and footwear among others.
He added that the fair is a main attraction for foreigners interested in investing in Angola due to privileged space and capable of providing direct business contacts among entrepreneurs.
