Visiting Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Socrates here on Thursday announced the granting of three new credit-line loans to Angola totaling 1.1 billion euros (about 1.74billion U.S. dollars) to boost the Portuguese-Angolan relations.
After a meeting with Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos, the Portuguese prime minister told reporters that the first loan is estimated at 100 million euros, and the second and third worth 500 million euros each.
According to him, some 200 Portuguese will come to Angola by the end of this year under a fund adopted by the Angolan Cabinet Council on Wednesday meant to boost the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The Portuguese prime minister also said that Portugal and Angola share the same view-points on most of the matters, underlining that over the last two years there was recorded a boost in the commercial ties.
