The U.S. government wants to strengthen economic relations with Angola and explore ways of attracting more U.S. investors into Angola, a senior U.S. official said here on Monday.
Arriving at the Luanda international airport in the afternoon, visiting U.S. Undersecretary of State for Economy, Energy and Agriculture Ruben Jeffery said he will meet and hold talks with Angolan officials, bank officials and business people during his two-day visit to further bilateral relations.
He added that he will also reiterate the commitment of the U.S. government for a democratic, healthy, prosperous, safe and peaceful Angola.
According to him, knowing Angola better will help the U.S. government further strengthen U.S.-Angolan bilateral relations and help U.S. business people to invest in the southwestern African country.
He said he will focus on such issues as Angola's investment climate and the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on September 5 this year.
He reiterated the commitment of the U.S. government for a democratic, healthy, prosperous, safe and peaceful Angola.
According to his visit agenda, the U.S. official will meet Assistant Prime Minister Aguinaldo Jaime as well as Agricultural Minister Afonso Pedro Canga and Finance Minister Jose Pedro de Morais.
