Morocco and Russia, which celebrate on Monday the fiftieth anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties, said they are going to further bolster bilateral relations in all fields, the official MAP news reported.
In an exchange of messages between the two countries' foreign ministers, the top diplomats hailed the quality of bilateral relations and the volume of exchanges, and voiced the will to boost them, MAP said.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed his country would move forward in all fields for the good of the two countries, and reinforce security and stability in the region and the entire world.
Russia highly appreciates their political dialogues regarding key international and regional issue, including the settlement of the Middle East conflict, sustainable development in Africa and countering terrorism and religious extremism, Lavrov said.
He pointed out that bilateral cooperation has reached the level set by the strategic partnership declaration.
During the third high joint commission held in Rabat in April, the two countries had issued a Declaration of Strategic Partnership that outlines the scope of bilateral cooperation.
For his part, Moroccan Foreign Minister Taieb Fassi Fihri hailed the level of economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two nations, which covers strategic fields as evidenced by the results of the third high joint commission.
He also stressed the will of Moroccan King Mohammed VI to work in coordination with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to further boost relations and implement the strategic partnership declaration.
