Tunisian president condemns Mumbai terror attacks

Tunisian President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali on Friday condemned the terrorist attacks in Mumbai which stormed five-star hotels and a Jewish center, the official TAP news agency reported.

President Ben Ali sent a message of condolences to his Indian counterpart Pratibha Patil following the terrorist attacks in Mumbai which killed many innocent people, the report said.

The head of state stressed the country's strong condemnation ofsuch crimes and reiterated its rejection of all sorts of terrorism and its solidarity with the Indian people, it added.

A group of unidentified gunmen launched coordinated attacks on Wednesday evening in India's biggest city of Mumbai, and the death toll has hit 143 so far, including 14 policemen and eight foreigners.
