Tunisia and the United Nations signed a cooperation agreement to help the country to meet job target for its growing number of job seekers, local daily reported on Tuesday.
Tunisia and the UN signed the cooperation project on youth employment with the aim to offer them enough training opportunities and back up their integration in professional life, said the government-run newspaper La Presse.
Under the agreement, Spain, the donor, will give Tunisia 3.1 million U.S. dollars to finance the scheme, it added.
The three-year project will also set up regional action plans and programs to boost economic initiatives and ensure a better guidance of job applicants among higher graduates especially in ElKef and Gafsa in northwest and south of Tunisia, the daily said.
Tunisia's unemployment rate is put at 14 percent with 88,000 new job seekers entering into the market each year, according to official data.
