Somalian pirates have hijacked an Indonesian-flagged puller ship and a Turkey-flagged cargo rent by a France-based oil company Total in Yemen Sea, the Jakarta Post reported on Wednesday.

All the crews have been imprisoned by the pirates.

The Seafarers Aid Program Coordinator from Kenya Andrew Mwangura was quoted as saying that the pirates had hijacked the puller ship on Tuesday when it was on its way to Malaysia.

A spokesperson from Total confirmed the hijack and said that most of the hostages were Indonesians. To release the hostages, the pirates have asked a redemption worth up to several million U.S. dollars.
