Zimbabwe's opposition MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai has been urged to demonstrate his commitment to serving the people of Zimbabwe by returning home from Botswana to re-open discussions on forming a long delayed all inclusive government, ZBC News reported on Sunday.
Zimbabwe Deputy Minister of Information and Publicity Bright Matonga said the prime reason for Tsvangirai's failure to return home is the MDC-T's western backers who have made it an open secret that they will never agree to any settlement as long as President Robert Mugabe is part of it.
He called on Tsvangirai to demonstrate to the people of Zimbabwe his commitment to the September 15, 2008 power sharing deal.
Matonga said whatever is done towards resolving the impasse with Tsvangirai it looks like the MDC leader will never reach final decisions as he is always bringing up fresh demands not included in the power sharing deal.
He said President Mugabe has sent the required official communication to Tsvangirai, inviting him to form an all inclusive government after the gazetting of constitutional amendment number 19 bills which the MDC leader must honour.
Matonga said the bill now awaits debate in parliament and needs the support of both ruling Zanu PF and the opposition MDC legislators for it to be passed into law.
