The Angolan government on Thursday was urged to valuate famous historical monuments and scenic sites across the country.

Katarina Tchitaka de Oliveira, a famous Angolan historian, appealed to the government for evaluating the country's historical monuments and scenic sites, which, she said, will help people know the country better, enrich their historical knowledge and make them feel proud.

The historian said it is necessary to make the historical monuments and scenic sites public through the local, national and international levels the cultural richness of Angola.

She added that the historical monuments and scenic sites are works of nature origin and their cultural, historic, political, religious, socioeconomic and architectonic significance can drive people's efforts towards their re-establishment, preservation, study and divulgence.

From the historic viewpoint, she said, historical monuments and scenic spots are the places of public, private, political and religious interest where there have occurred historic events with or without human being signals.
