The United States is willing to further strengthen the military cooperation with Angola in various areas, a U.S. diplomat said here on Wednesday.

Jeffrey Hawkins, counseling minister of the U.S. Embassy to Angola, made the remarks after Daniel W. Pike, U.S. assistant director of the Office of Security and Defense for the African Affairs, met with Angolan Foreign Minister Assuncao dos Anjos.

Hawkins said the United States and Angola are currently conducting studies on identifying the sectors in which the cooperation may be materialized.

According to him, the two sides also debated the various areas they have already cooperated at the military level including military education and health.
