Somali security minister, Omar Hashi Aden, along with other government officials, was killed on Thursday in a suicide attack by an insurgent group in the central Somali town of Beledweyne, Somali government officials said.

The Islamist Movement of Al-Shabaab which is opposed to the Somali government has claimed responsibility for the attack.
