A craft bomb was defused by Madagascan armed forces in the city center of the mountainous capital city on Thursday.
According to L'Express, a French-language daily published here on Friday, the craft bomb was designed to kill the armed forces, who had promised to ensure security over the island country during the preparation of the national day on June 26.
The attack was aborted thanks to the military technicians, who could manage to deactivate the explosive before time.
The bomb, which was connected to a mobile phone acting as the counter, consists of a detonator, powered by two fuel cells, each of them generating a charge of nine volts.
The bomb was hidden in a black plastic bag and was abandoned in a parking, where usually parked trucks of armed forces responsible for maintaining order near a place of demonstrations by supporters of former president Marc Ravalomanana.
The commander of the national gendarmerie Colonel Richard Ravalomanana rushed to the scene with technicians immediately after the alert.
"Cooperation of everyone is strongly requested to catch the troublemakers," Colonel Richard Ravalomanana said.
On Monday, a similar explosive was placed by two unidentified men in a supermarket in the city of Leader Price, but no one was killed nor injured.
Investigations on the two bombs were already underway by the police and armed forces had continued to reassure the security of the island country especially during this week of preparation for the national holiday.
