Unidentified gunmen kidnapped the executive assistant to the southwest Nigeria's Oyo State governor on administration, Richard Fagbemi, the Nigerian Tribune newspaper reported Wednesday.

The governor's aide who was said to have travelled to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on a private visit, was kidnapped while returning between Ondo and Edo states on Sunday.

He was kidnapped together with his sister-in-law and the driver.

The kidnappers allegedly demand a ransom of 20 million naira for their release.

Rhe governor's aide could no longer be reached by his family members by phone, after the kidnappers got in touch with his son, who is a lawyer, to let him know that they had been kidnapped.
