At least one staff member of the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) was killed and another is missing in Tuesday's car bombings in Algiers, a spokesman said in Geneva.
The building housing the UNHCR's office in the Algerian capital "suffered extensive damage" after the twin bombings, Ron Redmond of the UNHCR headquarters in Geneva said.
He said that the UNHCR is still now trying to sort out where the agency's local staff members are.
The two bombings, one targeting the UN building and the other exploding near the Algerian Supreme Court building, have claimed at least 67 lives, according to the country's health ministry.
