UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is traveling to Texas on Friday afternoon, where he will address the William Waldo Cameron Forum on Public Affairs at the George Bush Presidential Library, named after the first President Bush, said UN spokesperson Michele Montas.
Ban will speak about the "strong U.S.-UN relationship," saying that working together is in the best interest of the United States, of the United Nations and of the world, Montas said.
The UN chief will also be expected to highlight key concerns for the United Nations, including the situation in Darfur and climate change, she continued.
The secretary-general will visit Geneva early next week, where he will address the new session of the Human Rights Council on Monday, Montas added. Source: Xinhua
