European Union (EU) High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana on Wednesday expressed the EU's support for Serbia's efforts to join the 27-member bloc.
During a meeting in Brussels with Serbian parliamentary speaker Oliver Dulic, Solana also underlined the EU's commitment to work closely with Serbia to achieve "tangible results" that will benefit the people of Serbia, according to a press release issued by the Council of the EU.
Solana stressed the importance that Serbia accelerates the pace of reforms necessary for joining the EU.
He added that the EU was willing to join hands with Serbia to "support increased stability and prosperity in the whole of the Western Balkans."
During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest developments in Serbia, the EU-Serbian relations and regional cooperation.
