UN chief appoints German to head management department |

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced Tuesday the appointment of Angela Kane of Germany as undersecretary-general for management.
Kane, who has been serving as assistant secretary-general for political affairs since December 2005, replaces Barcena Ibarra of Mexico.
Ibarra will be reassigned as executive secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
