A brief security glitch occured Wednesday in the World Bank headquarters in Washington, DC, as a man brought a suspicious package to the gate of the bank.

The World Bank said in a statement that a man approached a security officer at the 18th street entrance at about 12:45 p.m. local time with a suspicious package, claiming he has a bomb.

Police were notified, and the man was then taken into custody.

The bank said its employees are told to stay put during the incident.

Police investigators are trying to determine the contents of the package.
