Russian President Dmitry Medvedev Wednesday said he is considering response to the U.S. deal for a missile defense installation in the Czech Republic.

At a press conference after a 3-day Group of Eight (G8) nations which closed here Wednesday, Medvedev said Russia is deeply distressed by U.S. missile plan in Eastern Europe.

"We won't go hysterical over this, but we will weigh up our response," the president said at the news conference.

He continued to say that Russia is still open to talks with the United States on the issue.
