UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, in a statement on Saturday, strongly condemned the bombing in India that left 19 people killed and injured.

"The secretary general strongly condemns these reprehensible acts that have caused the death and injury of many civilians and calls for the perpetrators to be brought to justice," the statement said.

The statement also conveyed sympathies to the families of those killed and injured as well as to the Indian government and people.

Earlier Saturday, a bomb exploded in India's capital New Delhi and resulted in four people killed and 15 others wounded.
