UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon strongly condemned on Monday the terrorist attack in the Lebanese city of Tripoli earlier in the day.
"He conveys his condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and Armed Forces of Lebanon. He hopes that the perpetrators of this act will be brought to justice," said a statement issued by Ban's press office.
"The secretary-general remains encouraged by the measures taken in recent weeks by the Lebanese to resume the national dialogue and calls upon them not to be deterred by this new attack," it added.
The bomb attack reportedly killed at least four people including three members of the Lebanese Armed Forces.
Earlier this month a car bombing outside of the capital Beirut claimed the life of senior politician Saleh Aridi and wounded six others.
