International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Mohammed ElBaradei criticized the United States and Israel Thursday for their behavior disturbing investigation into Syria's nuclear issue, saying it's not conductive to finding the truth.

ElBaradei said at IAEA council meeting "the unilateral use of force" of Israel against Syrian questionable establishment and U.S. and Israel "providing information about the bombed facility only after the destruction have seriously disturbed IAEA's judgment."

He also required "maximum transparency" by Syria on clarification of its nuclear issue.

The Western countries including the United States and Israel suspect Syria of secretly developing nuclear weapons. In September last year, Israeli air force blew down an establishment in a remote desert in eastern Syria and claimed the bombed facility was for nuclear uses.

The United States provided IAEA intelligence this May that the destroyed establishment was for developing nuclear explosive material and would be put into operation shortly. However, Syria says it is only an abandoned military facility and keeps denying of secretly developing any nuclear weapons.

IAEA has carried out investigations but encountered big problems as the Syrian facility has been totally blown down and lost its original feature. The latest investigation result only shows that the facility owns some characteristics that "are similar to a reactor site" and unnatural uranium traces have been found there. The IAEA report also points out that relevant evidence is not sufficient to draw a conclusion on the nature of Syria's bombed facility.
