The UN General Assembly on Tuesday adopted a resolution to condemn the military coup in Honduras and demand the immediate restoration of the government of ousted President Manuel Zelaya.
The resolution also asked all the countries not to recognize the military regime that took power by force.
The General Assembly is "deeply concerned" at the coup d'etat in Honduras and "gravely concerned" at the breakdown of the constitutional order and the rule of law, the resolution said.
At the presence of Zelaya, who was invited by Assembly President D'Escoto Brockmann to address the 192-member body, the one-page resolution was adopted by acclamation.
D'Escoto convened a special session of the General Assembly on Monday to discuss the situation in Honduras.
Diplomats and regional groups condemned the military coup in Honduras and called for the restoration of constitutional order.
