All the four leaders of the Melanesia Spearhead Group have confirmed their attendance at the special retreat convened in Vanuatu next week, according to local media on Friday.

MSG director general Rima Ravusiro said there is no set agenda for the meeting, the Suva-based Pacnews reported on Friday.

The Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) includes Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.

"It's a retreat of leaders without officials. They will sit down and discuss any issue they want to raise," the Pacnews quoted Ravusiro as saying.

He said there will be no set agenda as it is an open discussion amongst the MSG leaders.

He confirmed that all the leaders, including Fiji's Commodore Frank Bainimarama will meet in Port Vila next week.

While no date has been confirmed, Pacnews said it understands the one day retreat will be held on July 10.

Vanuatu Prime Minister, Edward Natapei, as chair of MSG, convened the urgent meeting to discuss among other things Fiji's expulsion from the Pacific Islands Forum and see what the MSG can do and open up dialogue with the Fijian administration.

The special MSG leaders retreat comes three weeks before the annual summit of Pacific Leaders in Cairns, Australia.

Fiji has been suspended from the 16-member grouping in May this year after it failed to meet the May elections deadline.
